About
Brick Track Designer lays out LEGO-compatible train track (switches, crossings, crossovers, yards) and makes it into parts to 3D print: STL or 3MF, cut to your print bed, joined like LEGO track. It runs in your browser: nothing you draw leaves your computer.
Free and open source (AGPL-3.0): source code and issues on GitHub. Made with three.js and the manifold geometry kernel.
Laying track
- D or ✎ Draw, then click a grid point or a track's end to start; move to see the track; click to lay it and carry on.
- Esc or a right-click stops drawing; Esc again goes back to Select.
- Start on the middle of a track to branch off it: a switch.
- Drag a track's end to reshape it; drop it on another end to join them. Esc while dragging puts it back.
Switches
- Points (yellow squares): click to take them out (both tracks' rails run through as plain track: a grey square), again to put them back; drag to move them along. A hollow yellow square is a track end a little off another track: click it to force points there (dashed: too far off; redraw it to start on the track).
- Levers (orange): drag one across the track to swap its side, or further out (on tines, along too). Hover a lever to see what set its side, the branch it throws picked out in orange: a lever dragged across wins, then the branch route's own Lever side (on its card), then the Piece options'.
- The Trackwork panel has each one's numbers, and a three-way's branches one at a time.
View and keys
- Wheel zooms; right/middle-drag or Space+drag pans (while drawing too).
- Select: click a track; Shift+click adds more; drag on empty ground for a box; Ctrl+A all; Esc none. Ctrl+C/X/V copy, cut, paste (at the mouse), Ctrl+D duplicate, M mirror, R / Shift+R turn 90°, Del delete.
- D draw, S select, F fit, P 3D preview, ? this help, Ctrl+S save, Ctrl+O open, Ctrl+Z undo, Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redo.
